Experimental Investigation of Traction Power Transfer Indices of Farm-Tractors for Efficient Energy Utilization in Soil Tillage and Cultivation Operations

Farm tractors in cultivation consume a big amount of fossil fuels and emit greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Improving traction performance power transfer indices wheeled field terrain soil with higher (pull ability) at optimal travel reduction (TR) can optimize energy utilization. This study compares performance, fuel consumption, productivity, farm tractor equipped new drive wheel “rigid lugged (RLW)” conventional tire (CTW) tillage operations. Tractor RLW resulted 24.6 kN drawbar pull 6.6 km.h−1 speed 80% tractive efficiency 15.6% TR. While CTW, were 23.2 6.0 km h−1 respectively 68% 36.3% The improved similar equipment weight. also 220.5% lower TR, 14.8% 15.4% consumption. control weight traffic intensity will make operations more energy-efficient economical. For enhanced drivability RLW, further work is required test for diverse conditions differently sized tractors.
